The staff at Elmhurst have absolutely surpassed themselves in their duties and care of my mother. Mum looks so happy every time we visit. She is engaged, entertained and the staff have so much time for her it's absolutely incredible. I couldn't recommend Elmhurst more highly. All staff are so wonderful.
A Professional Eye
As a nurse and former care home deputy manager I am able to cast a professional eye on how things are managed and the care the residents receive. There is no doubt in my mind that Leanne and Gary are doing a fabulous job in running the home while the manager is on maternity leave. My dad received excellent care and all of the other residents also look well cared for.
Thriving Social Life
It was a difficult decision to put my Mum into a care home, but as soon as I walked through the door all my worries were gone. Meeting the manager and impressed on how compassionate she is about her role, and hands-on too. I was really impressed that we could alter mum's room to suit her needs she has a lot of knick-knacks! We brought some of her furniture to make her feel more like home. Since coming from hospital in a very poorly way I am really impressed with how quickly my mum is back to being healthy not only in body but she now talks and has her sense of humor back, this is a credit to the manager and her team, Mum feels that everyone her is her friend she is thriving on a social life from sing songs to having a go at pottery and trips out. I know my mum is safe, well looked after and happy. I live in Cornwall so finding her the right place has given me peace of mind that she is happy too. When I do visit I’m thrilled to see how at ease she is, and how the manager is working hard to update the home.
Safe and Secure
Mum has been a resident of the Red House for nearly 18 months now. At first she was very unhappy to be there but the staff did their uttermost to settle her in and now she is very content. She appreciates the care she is given especially the food. We as family are much happier that she is no longer at home due to her dementia- we know she is kept very safely from harm now. Mum enjoys the fact that the hairdresser, chiropodist and trips out are all arranged for her.
Dignity and Respect
This is an excellent home, staff look after residents very well. They treat the residents with the dignity and respect that they deserve. All residents are treated as individuals and staff are always empathetic to residents. Sedlescombe Park has an excellent manager who is always around the building and guides the staff with the experience that she has. The residents of this home are always encouraged to participate in the activities, they even get out and about on weekly trips out for lunch. I would definitely recommend this care home to anyone that I know.
My mother was a resident of Wolston Grange for four years.During her time there she was always treated with kindness. The open door visiting policy meant that I could call in at any time. Never once did I find my mother anything other than clean and well dressed. My mother loved having her hair and nails done. The home has a hairdresser who visits regularly so Mum was able to continue to enjoy this even when she could no longer leave the home or its grounds. After a long fight with dementia my mother passed away. She was treated with care and gentleness in her final days, this has been a great comfort to me.The staff work hard to ensure special days such as Bonfire night, Queen's Jubilee, resident's birthdays are celebrated. The south facing sheltered terrace enables residents to enjoy summer days outside safely.
All staff were very welcoming and did everything they could to settle my nan quickly, making adjustments to the room. The accommodation is lovely with two big lounges and a separate dining area. My nan said the food was really good and they looked after her really well during respite of four weeks. There are not many residents so they get a lot of personal care from a small team of friendly staff. They all couldn't do enough for us and we would highly recommend.
A Home From Home
Cherry Trees really feels like home, not like being in a home. They really are all amazing, I haven't seen my Nan so happy and healthy in years. I was worried when my Nan first had to go into a home as I've seen some awful places, I don't worry anymore. My Nan is very lucky to be at Cherry Trees, she's safe and she's happy. Thank you all for all you do.
All the staff are very kind and helpful towards my mother and myself. The Manor House has the feeling of homeliness. Everywhere is very clean and mother seems happy. She looks very healthy, in fact the best she has looked for many years which I put down to her care at the home. It is a shame the home is 45 minutes away but it is well worth the drive. The family are always made to feel welcome and mediate between mother and ourselves because sometimes she can be difficult as she has dementia. I would definitely recommend this home.
A Huge Relief
My mum has been at cherry trees for a year and a half, the care she is given is fantastic, sharon and her staff are so friendly and nothing is to much trouble for them...a huge relief for me knowing my mum is well looked after, my mum has been poorly recently the care and support was 100 per cent. I can't thank you all enough you're all amazing!
I have nothing but praise for the Red House and it's staff. Putting my mother into care was a difficult decision, but was the right thing to do. The staff are lovely and my mother is clearly happy and well looked after. The staff are courteous and friendly, and willing to answer any questions. The atmosphere is good and feels well managed. I'm glad that we chose this home.
Mum has been living at Sedlescombe for the last seven months, staff made lots of effort to settle her in and make her feel at home. The upset of moving house caused her to lose a bit of weight initially, staff monitored this very carefully learning that she preferred to eat later in the day and tried lots of different foods to encourage her. Three months down the line mum is now putting on weight, every time I visit she seems alert and happy, always giving me a smile. She interacts with the staff extremely well, they are her extended family now, always encouraging her, laughing and joking, which she loves. When I visit mum, she is always clean and well looked after, she has made friends with the other residents, as I have myself. On looking back now, I kept mum in her own home for as long as I could manage thinking that this was the best for her but in hindsight I realise that mum is much happier living with other people, all credit to the wonderful hardworking staff. Thank you.
Empathy and More
In all the aspects that matter - respect, empathy, kindness, diligence, communication with relatives, support for relatives, and many more, the team at the Manor House excel. From the day of admission we have been reassured by the care my father-in-law and my wife's aunt have received.
You should be proud of the way your company operates its care homes. The standard of care is superb. It is as though you have selected staff by psychometric test. They all have this same calm, caring way of dealing with their guests. Staff here at Wolston are very caring and seem to have time for every one of their guests. It is quality not quantity that shines through with Wolston. If you have the right people you provide the very best service. My wife's bedroom, the kitchen the day rooms were all of a superb standard, Thank you for caring for my wife.
