Making Our Home Your Home

Here at Pinnacle Care we believe that our homes should provide residents with a friendly and comfortable environment that allows residents to have as much flexibility as possible, provides a level of familiarity and encourages activity. We achieve this by working as far as possible to a number of person-centred care principles and training our staff to a high level, to really understand dementia.

Person-Centred Care Principles

We follow The VIPS Framework. This was developed by Professor Dawn Brooker, at the University of Worcester's Association for Dementia Studies. There are four elements:

Values: recognise the value of all human life regardless of age or ability

Individuals: focused on each unique person

Perspective: looking at the world through the eyes of the person needing care

Social: seeing and responding to a person not a unit of care

At Pinnacle Care, we are employed to look after the well-being of our residents with dementia and related mental health needs, which includes preventing them from coming to harm.

Our policies have been developed to enable everyone who lives with us to be supported and empowered to live their lives to the full through the management of risk and are not subjected to physical, chemical or emotional forms of restraint in order to manage risk. Through our ethos of person-centred care we are able to provide a safe and supportive environment for all.
